The Castlebar side boasts numerous county underage stars including Andrew Butler, James Diskin, Keith Staunton, Sean Gavin, Danny Collins and Gary Hayes and will be boosted also by county minor football panelists Padraig Healy, Ronan O'Boyle and Gerard O'Boyle. Tooreen also have many stars of the future to watch out for with Michael Healy, Cathal Freeman, Enda Kenny, Gary Nolan, Peter Squires and Joey Ganley all wearing the green and red over the past season.

To qualify for todays final, Tooreen defeated Ballyhaunis on a 4-10 to 2-10 scoreline whilst in the semi-final Castlebar also defeated Ballyhaunis with three points to spare on a 1-10 to 1-7 scoreline.
