The
panels to represent Ireland in the forthcoming Hurling/Shinty International
games at Senior and U-21 level against Scotland have been announced.
The
senior panel includes two Antrim players, with the remainder being
chosen from players who participated in the inaugural Christy Ring
and Nicky Rackard Cup Competitions for counties in the 2nd and 3rd
tier championships.

The
games against Scotland will take place in Inverness on Saturday
week, October 8th. The Ireland team will be managed by Seamus Qualter
(Westmeath) assisted by Noel O'Sullivan (Kildare) while Down's John
Crossey and his assistant Kevin McDonell (Louth) will take charge
of the U21 team. Last year's senior game ended in a draw when two
late goals from Kerry's John Mike Dooley salvaged Irish pride and
ensured stalemate on a scorline of 3-10 to 4-7. In the U-21 encounter
in 2004, Ireland emerged victorious on a scoreline of 3-5 to 3-2.
