All-Ireland Feile na nGael Hurling
Preview Castlebar Mitchell's and Tooreen are Cork Bound

Feile na nGael Hurling fever hits Mayo next weekend, and especially the U-14 hurlers from the Castlebar Mitchell's and Tooreen Hurling Club's, as both teams prepare for a tilt at winning their respective divisions at the All-Ireland Feile na nGael Hurling Championships in Cork. The 3-day event, which is the largest club hurling tournament in the country commences on Friday 17th June and concludes with the finals in Pairc Ui Caoimh and Pairc Ui Rinn on Sunday 19th June. Both teams will be hosted by hurling clubs in County Cork, with Mayo Feile Champions Castlebar operating out of Division 2 and Mayo runners-up - Tooreen - taking the second available Mayo slot in Division 4.

The Cork City based hurling club, St. Vincent's, will host Mayo Feile Champions, Castlebar, who will play in the Division 2 section. As well as St Vincent's, Castlebar have been grouped with Cork side Killeigh/St. Ita's as well as the Kildare Champions, Naas. This is the first year that Castlebar have qualified for Feile, and is the result of years of development at underage level. Team mentors Gerry Lane, Paddy O'Brien and Michael Clune have put together a nice side capable of representing the county very well at this high standard.

For Tooreen, this will be their sixth successive year travelling to Feile na nGael, but their first time going as Mayo runners-up. Having won Division 3 last year in Navan, the Tooreen lads this year find themselves playing out of Division 4 where the Kilbrittain Club from South Cork will host them. Tooreen have been grouped with another South Cork side, Sam McGuire's as well as the second representative from Tyrone, Carrickmore.

And that isn't all the Mayo talent that will be representing Mayo in Cork, as Kevin Duffy from the Ballina-James Stephen's Hurling Club will represent Mayo at the Feile na nGael Skills Competition. Kevin will be put through his paces in Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Saturday 18th June and will be looking to test his skill against young hurlers from the more traditional hurling counties.
